Pakistan National Assembly Adjourned Till Monday

The Pakistan National Assembly has been adjourned till Monday 28th March. A no-confidence motion was to be tabled in the assembly against the Imran Khan’s government today. The National Assembly Secretariat on Thursday issued a 15-point 'Order of the Day' for the National Assembly session, which included a no-confidence motion against the Imran government.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif said the opposition will exercise its right to move a resolution during today's session. However, if the proposal is not moved, we will discuss amongst ourselves.

The opposition submitted the proposal and demand for the session to the National Assembly Secretariat on 8 March. Under the Constitution of Pakistan, the speaker was obliged to hold the session within 14 days. However, he did not call the session till March 21 [14th day] which is now scheduled to start from today.

Voting on the resolution will take place at least three to seven days after it is placed before the National Assembly.
