Poll strategist Prashant Kishor, who was recently in the news for an attempted membership of the Congress ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has created a flurry of rumurs of him floating a new political party with a tweet that says “it is time to go to the real masters, THE PEOPLE” in a “quest to be a meaningful participant in democracy”. He added that ‘the beginning [will be] from Bihar’.

Prashant Kishor’s ‘election consultancy’, I-PAC, is working with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti for the upcoming stae elections and has had stints with other major parties such as the TMC and JD(U). Kishor had also been in talks with the Congress in 2019 which fell through over differences with the leadership. This time around, he was given a place in an ‘Empowered Action Group’ constituted for the 2024 polls and was offered a place as the General Secretary but turned it down as sources say that he was looking for greater decision-making powers and structural shake-ups.
Media quotes sources saying that it will take Mr. Kishor at least six months to a year to make the next major announcement, and that it is unlikely that he will tie up with his former political party (of 16 months) JD(U) since he avoided meeting CM Nitish Kumar. Announcing a party now could also throw a spanner in his future talks with the Congress. It is being said that he will tour the state first.
