Prayagraj: 5 of Family Killed With Sharp Weapons Days After Similar Crimes In District

Today on Saturday morning, police in the Tharwai station jurisdiction were informed that five members of a family had been murdered in Khevrajpur, causing a stir in the area. Senior police and district officials reached the spot along with sniffer dogs and forensics teams. The five deceased have been identified as Raj Kumar (55), Kusum Devi (53), Manisha Kumari (25),  Savita (23), and a two-year old child, Meenakshi.

This is the second such incident in the district after another gruesome case from Khagalpur village. A 48-year old woman and her three daughters aged 14, 10, and 8 years, were found with their throats slit while the husband was found hanging. This was followed by another crime Soraon where two people were murdered.

In the Khagalpur case, four arrests have been made and seven police teams constituted, including a Special Task Force (STF) and a Crime Branch team. The case had been registered on the behest of the brother of the deceased man Rahul Tiwari against his two brothers-in-law and their two associates.

 

DM Prayagrah Sanjay Khatri, SP of Gangapar region Abhishek Kumar Agrawal, and SSP Ajay Kumar reached the spot where investigation is ongoing in the newest murder case from Khevrajpur. BSP Chief Mayawati condemned the murders and asked for a prompt investigation and punishment for the guilty.
