Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee Dies Aged 78

Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Kun-hee died on Sunday at the age of 78. The company issued an official statement confirming Lee's demise. In an official statement, Samsung said, 'It has to be informed with great sadness that Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Kun-Hee has died on October 25. He made Samsung one of the best electronics companies in the world. His legacy will always be there.'

Lee had a heart attack in 2014, after which he began to remain unwell and his son Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong took over the company. In 2017, Lee was convicted of bribery and a crime related to former President Park-Geun-hye and sentenced to five years in prison. He was released a year later. The case is being tried again for a hearing.
