A health bulletin from the hospital confirmed that Sasikala had been officially released from prison at 11 am, and that she and her family had decided she would continue treatment for 4-5 days at the same hospital.
VK Sasikala was on Wednesday freed from the Parappana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru after serving four years in a disproportionate assets case. Sasikala, former AIADMK leader and a close aide of ex-Tamil Nadu chief minister late J Jayalalithaa, remain admitted at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru where she is undegoing treatment for COVID-19. The prison formalities were completed at the hospital this morning.
Sasikala has been officially released as on 11 am today. She was shifted to Victoria Hospital on 21st Jan and was tested positive. Sasikala's release comes just months before the Tamil Nadu assembly election. She tested positive for coronavirus just six days before the date of her release.
