TN Assembly Adopts Resolution Urging The Centre To Withdraw The New Farm Laws

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on Saturday adopted a resolution urging the Centre to withdraw the three farm laws. Through a voice note, the resolution was moved by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in the assembly during the monsoon session.

The AIADMK and BJP legislators staged a walkout from the assembly, opposing the resolution. The AIADMK MLAs said that the resolution was moved in haste and the state government should seek the views of the farmers by convening an all-party meeting.

The resolution was supported by the legislators of Congress, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) and Thamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi.
