Following the landslide victory in District Development Council (DDC) polls in Jammu and Kashmir, leaders of The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) met in Srinagar to discuss the election results and said that they’re much stronger now and that Centre should restore Article 370 in the valley.

The Gupkar alliance swept the maiden DDC polls by winning 110 seats, while the BJP emerged as the single largest party by getting 75 seats after securing the largest vote share in J&K. It consists of five parties — J&K National Conference, People’s Democratic Party, CPI(M), J&K People’s Conference and J&K People’s Movement — and were rivals in the past.
