Yoshihide Suga becomes the new Prime Minister of Japan after Shinzo Abe stepped down citing health concerns. Nearly eight years later, the Japanese Parliament has elected a new leader for the post of Prime Minister.
Suga is considered a close ally of Abe and is expected to carry forward his policies.
