Arvind Kejriwal Announces Armed Forces Training School For 9th, 11th Students Named On Shaheed Bhagat Singh

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced today on Tuesday, March 22nd,  the martyrdom day of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, that a new ‘training school’ for joining the Armed Forces is being created in Delhi over a 14-acre campus. Admissions to this school will be open for students of classes 9th and 11th onwards and it will be completely free of cost for 100 seats each for both intakes.

The school will be named Shaheed Bhagat Singh Armed Forces Preparatory School. Kejriwal described it as a “state of the art modern school with equipped with all facilities”

 

All children “residing in Delhi” (domicile) will be eligible for admission. Mr. Kejriwal said that 18,000 applications have been received already.

The school will be fully residential for boys and girls, and the ‘expert faculty’ will consist of retired officers from the three services and other experts who will instill an ‘officer-like qualities’ in the students to prepare them for entering the NDA (National Defense Academy), Naval Academy, and other forces.
