Common Entrance Test To Be Conducted For Admission To UG Programs, 12th Marks Will Not Count

A mandatory common entrance test has been announced by UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar for admission to undergraduate programs in all the 45 Central Universities. This examination will be held in the month of July.

The Central University Common Entrance Test(CUCET) is a computerised examination and will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) which will announce the test pattern on Tuesday, he said. The application window for the examination will be open in the first week of April.

Class 12th marks will not be required in CUCET. Thus, the trend where the board exams score which were often resulted in high cut-off could be put to rest now.

The UGC CUCET 2022 Applications in April, Single Exam for Entry to All Top Universities for undergraduate admission, however for the PG admissions universities can choose to use CUCET scores but its not mandatory yet.

Central Universities like Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Visva Bharati University will provide admissions to their undergraduate programmes through NTA CUCET exam scores. The CUCET exam scores can also be used for admission to state, private and deemed universities.
