In a fresh setback for Huawei and ZTE, Belgium has banned the use of equipments from both the Chinese companies to build the 5G infrastructure in the country.

The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) on Tuesday said the Chinese tech giants have been banned from providing telecommunications equipment for building 5G networks on the recommendation of the country's military.

In July, the United Kingdom became one of the the first European countries to announce to completely remove Chinese equipments from the country's 5G network by 2027.
