BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile Launches From Andaman & Nicobar On Wednesday

According to defence sources, India successfully tested a surface-to-surface BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in Andaman and Nicobar on Wednesday. It went on to say that the long-range missile hit its target with extreme accuracy.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari complimented the cruise missile's successful test-firing. Defence officials told news agency ANI that he is at the island region of Andaman and Nicobar to check operational readiness.

An extended-range land-attack Brahmos supersonic cruise missile was successfully displayed by the Indian Navy earlier this month from the stealth warship INS Chennai.

After crossing an extended range trajectory and conducting intricate manoeuvres, the missile hit its targeted target with perfect accuracy, according to naval authorities.

Both the Brahmos missile and the INS Chennai were manufactured in India, demonstrating the country's missile and shipbuilding ability. According to the authorities, they "reinforce" the Indian Navy's contributions to the Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.
