The CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs) has made changes to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rules with effect from today, wherein Aadhar-card verification is now mandatory for taxpayers to avail GST refund.
The amendment to the GST rules has been made to stymie tax evasion, according to the government. Now, the GST refund will be disbursed to only that bank account which is linked to the PAN card associated with that particular GST number.
Under the decisions taken on September 17th GST Council Meeting, a notification has announced that those firms that fail to file summary of returns and monthly returns after 1 January 2022 will not be allowed to file GSTR-1 for returns in the subsequent months.
