In a worrying development, China has claimed that imported frozen chicken from Brazil tested coronavirus positive. Previously, COVID-19 was also detected in prawns imported from Ecuador.
The Local Disease Control Center said that the test report of the sample taken from the surface of the meat has been positive. Since the coronavirus outbreak, China has been examining imported foods at all its ports. During this time the infection was confirmed in prawns imported from Ecuador.
However, an official of Brazil's meat exporter in China said, "It is difficult to say at what stage the frozen chicken was infected."
