Indian Railways To Fine Private Operators In Case Of Train Delay

Indian Railways is working on a new business model. Under this new plan, private train operators will be dealt with strictly by the Railways in case of delay and will also be fined for it.

Railways has said that if the train arrives at the station before or late, then the private operators will have to pay damages for it. Railways has said that all private operators will have to guarantee a 95% time restriction in a year.

Railways has released a draft of the new business model on Wednesday. It states that if there is a reduction in punctuality, the operator will be charged an additional charge of 200 km. This fine amount will be charged at Rs 512 per km.
