Delhi: Youth Congress Activists Protest Fuel Price Hikes At Petroleum Ministry, Detained

In Delhi, members of the Youth Congress protested against the rise in the price of diesel-petrol and LPG gas cylinders.

The Congress slammed the BJP on Saturday after the government raised diesel and petrol prices for the fourth time in five days, claiming that the "shameless fleecing" of the population must end.

From March 31 to April 7, the Congress will launch the "Mehngai Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" to Against inflation and fuel price hikes.

"King prepares for palace, but citizens suffers from inflation," former Congress head Rahul Gandhi said of the government's response to rising fuel costs. On Saturday, petrol and diesel prices were raised by 80 paise a litre, the fourth rise in five days, as oil companies passed on the increase in raw material costs to customers.

Congress main spokesperson Randeep Surjewala remarked in a Hindi tweet, "Inflation in the Modi government - "new date, same issue." This morning began with rising costs as well. The rate was raised by Rs 0.80 today as well."

"In the new India, every day a new rate of diesel/petrol, four attacks in five days, plunder of Rs. 3.2/L," he claimed.

"BJP continues - joyful oath-taking, while the public suffers every day from inflation?" Stated Surjewala.

Petrol and Diesel prices have risen by Rs 3.20 per litre in the last week, according to Congress spokeswoman Shama Mohamed.

"Fuel prices had been held steady for four months prior to the elections, but have now been raised four times in less than a week. This blatant robbery of the people must come to an end! "she tweeted.
