The Supreme Court on Thursday stayed the June 30 order of the Delhi High Court, in which the latter directed the government to translate the notification into all the regional languages so that people could understand the changes in the rules and submit their suggestions.
The court then gave the ministry ten days to issue the draft in the other 22 languages. However, the Ministry appealed to the Supreme Court during this period and on 13 August, the top court stayed the Delhi High Court's order for contempt of court proceedings against the Ministry.
