FIR Against Deep Sidhu, Lakha Sidhana For Hoisting Flag At Red Fort

An FIR has been lodged against Punjabi actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu for hoisting a flag at the iconic Red Fort during the farmers' tractor parade on Republic Day.

The FIR has been lodged by the Delhi Police at the Kotwali Police Station, which also includes the name of Lakha Sidhana, a gangster-turned-social activist.

Delhi Police has registered a case against both of them under various sections. This includes IPC Section 186 to prevent police officers from doing their duty, Section 353 to try and use criminal force on them for the purpose of preventing Government officials from doing their duty.

The parade on 26 January took a violent turn when a large number of protesters, who were only allowed to march on an assigned route, took a different route to enter Delhi. During this time there was an atmosphere of tension in the capital. Meanwhile, a group of agitators reached the Red Fort and hoisted the Sikh religious flag known as the Nishan Sahib on an empty pole.
