Gender Inequality In Vaccinations Narrows In India

As per the government data shown on Wednesday, the gender disparity in India’s COVID-19 immunisation drive has narrowed. Pregnant women are now allowed to get their doses as authorities try to dispel rumors about fertility.

As per the data shown by the Health Ministry, out of the 481 million vaccine doses administered, about 47 percent have ben received by women.

The government has said that India officially started vaccinating pregnant women in July. They have been running ground-level campaigns to encourage pregnant women to get their shots.
