Veteran psephologist and leader of Swaraj India Yogendra Yadav has written that the Farmer’s Protest is now beyond its basic objectives, i.e., the repeal of the three contentious Farm Laws introduced in 2020 in the Parliament.
Yadav wrote an article in which he saw farmers as a credible opposition force in the country, given the parallel protests within and outside the House on their issues. Akali Dal and Congress leaders were seen verbally sparring outside Parliament today regarding the same.

Yesterday, The Kisan Sansad running parallel to the Monsoon Session for the 8th Day strongly demanded the withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment Bill which the government had earlier promised not to introduce in the House.
