India And Pakistan Go Back And Forth On Kashmir At UNGA

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in his virtual address to the UN General Assembly said that “The onus remains on India to create a conducive environment for meaningful and result-oriented engagement with Pakistan”. In response, Indian delegate Mijito Vinito said that “The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inalienable part of India. The rules and legislation brought in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are strictly internal affairs of India”

In response to Khan’s statement, Indian delegate Sneha Dubey termed it “false and malicious”: "Regrettably, this isn't the first time leader of Pakistan has misused platforms provided by the UN to propagate false and malicious propaganda against my country and seeking in vain to divert world’s attention from the sad state of his country where terrorists enjoy free pass."

India will now exercise a “right to respond”, whereby countries may respond to statements made against them by other countries. Sneha Dubey said in this regard:

"We exercise our right of reply to one more attempt by the leader of Pakistan to tarnish the image of this August forum by bringing in matters internal to my country & going so far as to spew falsehoods on the world stage."

"While such statements deserve our collective contempt & sympathy for the mindset of the person who utters falsehood repeatedly. I'm taking the floor to set the record straight."
