Indian Army's Helicopter Crashes Near Gurez Sector, J&K ; Pilot Dies, Co-Pilot Injured

An Indian Army helicopter crashed in the snow-bound area of the Gurez sector in Jammu & Kashmir on Friday afternoon.  

The Cheetah helicopter crashed in the Baraum area of Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir, according to a defence official. Search parties have rushed to the spot. 

The helicopter was carrying a sick BSF personnel. The cause of the crash and casualties, if any, is not known yet.  

"The search parties of the security forces are reaching the snow-bound area for the rescue of the chopper crew," said the official. 

The crash took place immediately after take-off. The area is located near the Line of Control with Pakistan. 

UPDATE: According to the recent updates Army pilot died in chopper crash near Line Of Control. His co-pilot was critically injured as well and has been rushed to the nearby hospital.
