India’s Serum Institute To Provide COVID-19 Vaccines At $3 Per Dose

The price for Oxford-Serum Institute of India manufactured COVID-19 vaccine for Low Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) will be $3 (around Rs 225).

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is providing $150 million at-risk funding to GAVI that would fund Serum's manufacturing cost.

SII will manufacture and deliver up to 100 million doses of the underdevelopment AstraZeneca/Oxford and Novavax COVID-19 vaccines for India and 92 other low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) that can be available as early as first half of 2021, the company said in a statement.

The 100 million-dose is part of COVAX agreement where every LMIC country will initially get 20% of the doses.
