Ivanka Trump, daughter of US President Donald Trump, deleted a tweet calling the mob that stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday "American Patriots", prompting huge backlash after the screenshots went viral.
Four people have been reported dead and several policemen injured in a clash between President Trump's supporters and Capitol Hill police. The mob entered the premises and created a ruckus during the meeting of both houses of Congress in the capital building of the US capital, Washington DC. Many of these miscreants were carrying weapons.
After the mayhem, leaders of several countries including PM Modi expressed grief over the violence.
Ivanka retweeted a tweet of her father Donald Trump in which she appealed to the people for peace. Ivanka wrote, "American Patriots - any security breach or disrespect to our law enforcement is unacceptable. The violence must stop."
