J&J COVID Vaccine Produces Less Antibodies Against Delta Variant: Study

Single-dose COVID vaccine of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) produces less number of antibodies against the Delta variant, as per a study. This raises questions about the effectiveness of the vaccine as majority of the population in the United States are affected with the Delta variant.

New York University scientists have found that J&J’s vaccine produces lower level of antibodies against the Delta variant as compared to the ones it created against the earlier coronavirus strain.

J&J’s spokesman Jake Sargent said, “The data do not speak to the full nature of immune protection. The Vaccine has been shown to produce a strong immune response that lasts at least eight months after immunization.”
