The Idea Of Cancellation Of Games Not Ruled Out: Tokyo 2020 Chief

Toshiro Muto, who is the head of the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee has not ruled out the possibility of cancellation of the Olympic Games due to the COVID-19 scare.

When asked about if the Games could get cancelled at this late stage, he said, “We will continue discussions if there is a spike in cases. At this point, the coronavirus cases may rise or fall, so we will think about what we should do when the situation arises.”

The total COVID-19 infections have risen to 67 at the Tokyo Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics are set to start on July 23 and end on August 8, while the Paralympic Games are set to start on August 24 and end of September 5.
