As Punjab is most affected due to ongoing movement, state Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh met with Home Minister Amit Shah at latter's residence.

Following the meeting, the Chief Minister briefed media that he has requested Mr Shah to address grievances of farmers.

He said, "Today I met Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji and reiterated the need to protect MSP & continue with the APMC based mandi system. Requested him to listen to the farmers with an open mind & quickly resolve the standoff".

Speaking to reporters, he said that discussion is going on between farmers & Centre, there's nothing for me to resolve, that is something central govt has to do. I reiterated my opposition in my meeting with HM and requested him to resolve the issue as it affects economy of my state and security of the nation.

As farmers' numbers continue to increase with each passing day, many borders of Delhi have been barricaded, including the Singu Border, Tikri Border, Chilla Border. Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory saying that the Chilla Border located on Noida Link Road has been kept closed on Thursday.
