NIA Arrests Six From Syndicate On Charges Of Trafficking Rohingya Muslims

The national Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested six men on charges of human trafficking of Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar to India using forged documents. The agency says that the network was active in the eastern border areas of the country in the states of Assam, West Bengal, and Meghalaya.

Yesterday on Froday, March 11th, NIA investogators conducted searches in Assam, Meghalaya, and Karnataka. The NIA has named one Kumkum Ahmed Chuadhury, from Chachar in Assam, as the “mastermind” behind the network that operated from Bengaluru.  The NIA also seized devices for gathering electronic evidence on other members of the group.

The names of the others arrested are Sahalam Laskar, Ahiya Ahmed Choudhury, Bapan Ahmed Choudhury, and Jamaluddin Ahmed Choudhury from Chachar in Assam, and Wanbiang Suting from East Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya.
