The Madhya Pradesh government had recently issued an order prohibiting unvaccinated people from getting rations. Now, a new order passed on Thursday by the Excise Department of Khandwa city in the state has extended the restriction on obtaining alcohol as well. A person who is not fully vaccinated will not be allowed to buy liquor. The Madhya Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Department notified that unvaccinated people will not receive ration benefits from 31st December
A district excise official has said: “Only those people will be sold alcohol at liquor shops who have received both doses of the COVID vaccine”
The official’s ordersaid that this move was being made to promote the uptake of coronavirus vaccines in the state. The order has been tweeted by news agency ANI attached below:
