Police SIT Questions V.K. Sasikala At Residence For Kodanad Estate Robbery, Murder Case:

A special investigation team of the Tamil Nadu police arrived at the residence of former AIADMK leader and close aide of former chief minister Jayalalitha, V.K. Sasikala at Habibullah Road in T. Nagar, to question her in connection with the Kodanad estate dacoity-and-murder case of April 2017.

A group of armed robbers had entered the estate of the former chief minister in Kodanad, near Kotagiri in the Nilgiri district, killing one security guard and injuring another.

As reported in media, the investigation team includes Inspector General of Police (West) R. Sudhakar, Nilgiris Superintendent of Police Ashish Rawat, two Deputy Superintendents of Police, two inspectors and a videographer.

The estate was among Jayalalitha’s properties named in the disproportionate assets case pertaining to her tenure from 1991-96, which resulted in a conviction in 2014 which was overturned in 2015. Sasikala was convicted along with Jayalalitha to four years’ simple imprisonment. The crime occurred while she was serving her sentence.
