Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has posted a video to her Facebook account in which she can be seen going to villages, meeting and interacting with women working in the fields inUttar Pradesh. This comes a few days after her women-centred poll plank was announced with the slogan ‘Mai Ladki Hu, Lad Sakti Hu’ (I Am A Girl, I Can Fight), converging with her main line of attack on the incumbent BJP government, i.e., farmers’ issues, and specifically the mowing down and resultant violence that occurred in Lakhimpur Kheri district of the state.
Priyanka Gandhi is seen interacting with the women farmers, asking them about their daily lives and work and attempting to forge a connection that will yield electoral results.
She had tweeted yesterday on the video that emerged of a farmer burning his wheat in Lakhimpur Kheri due to ‘mismanagement’ in procurement. She brought up another incident of a farmer dying while waiting in line for fertilizer distribution.

Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has expressed scepticism on the feminist plank that Ms. Gandhi Vadra is trying to promote, questioning the Congress on various fronts in a series of tweets.
