Russia Ukraine Crisis: Subrahmanyam Jaishankar Meets UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres

External Affairs Minister  S Jaishankar, met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Thursday to address the global implications of the Ukraine war, as well as the situation in Afghanistan and Myanmar.

After a trip to Washington, Jaishankar arrived in India on Wednesday evening. On Twitter, Jaishankar stated “: "There was a lot of conversation with the UNSG. The worldwide impact of the Ukraine crisis on food and energy security was studied in particular. For underdeveloped countries, this is a severe issue."

Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Richardson joined Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Austin III was greeted in Washington.

On Monday, India and the United States urged the Taliban leadership to abide by a UN Security Council resolution prohibiting the use of Afghan territory to threaten or attack other countries, or to organise or finance terrorist operations. This is something that you should avoid.
