SpaceX Launches 60 More Starlink Satellites, Company's Valuation Skyrockets To $100 Billion

Elon Musk-backed company SpaceX's valuation jumped to $100 billion after the rocket firm launched 60 more satellites from Florida's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Saturday to bolster its Starlink mission.

With its fifteenth Starlink launch so far, SpaceX has now launched approximately 900 of the small, low Earth orbit satellites to date. With the help of these satellites, the California-based company aims to provide a global broadband internet service.

"The mission also marked the 100th successful flight of a Falcon rocket since Falcon 1 first flew to orbit in 2008," the company said in an official statement.

With the latest additions, SpaceX now operates more commercial satellites in orbit than any other company. SpaceX has permission to launch up to 12,000 satellites from the regulators but could go up to 40,000.
