TRS Leader Among 6 Named, Arrested For Realtor And Mother’s Self-Immolation

After the case of Karnataka BJP minister E.S. Eshwarappa’s alleged abetment of suicide of a contractor, a similar case has emerged from Telangana’s Kamareddy town. The mother, Gangam Padma, and her sn, Gangam Santosh, a realtor, named seven people including 6 TRS leaders and a circle inspector for harassing and “tormenting” them.

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is the ruling party in the state, and a municipal chairperson of Ramayapet, Palle Jitender Goud, is also named in the note and video left behind by G Santosh.

As per the police, "Mr Santosh also left a suicide note, in which he said these people had harmed his business and made life difficult for him" and said in his note that he was “financially ruined by them”, hoping for justice after his death.

Santosh wrote in the note that the circle inspector Nagarjuna Reddy was harassing him, and had acquired his phone for ‘investigation’ after which he extracted confidential information from it and used it to harass him, also sharing it with the TRS leaders.

A case of abetment to suicide has been registered and a senior police officer is investigating the same.
