United States COVID Hospitalisations Hit 8-Month High

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, the number of COVID-10 patients in U.S. hospitals breached the 1,00,000 on Thursday which is the highest level in eight months.

The data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that U.S. COVID-19 hospitalisations have more than doubled in the past month. Over the past week, more than 500 people with COVID were admitted to hospitals each hour on average.

Florida has the highest number of COVID-19 hospitalised patients followed by Texas and California. More than 95 percent of intensive care beds are currently occupied in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
