The water level of Yamuna rose to 203.37 metres in Delhi on Thursday. The warning mark is at 204.50 metres. As per officials, the cause for this are heavy rains in the upper catchment areas of the river.
An official from the Irrigation and Flood Control Department said, “The water level was recorded at 203.37 metres at the Old Railway Bridge at 10:30 am.”
He also added that the flow rate peaked to 1.60 lakh cusecs in the last 24 hours, which is the highest so far this year.
