At least 26 people were killed and over 800 injured as a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.0 struck the Aegean Sea between the Turkish coast and the Greek island of Samos on Friday. The quake was followed by hundreds of aftershocks and a tsunami.
At least 20 structures, including some multi-storey apartment buildings, collapsed in Izmir. More than 3,000 rescue personnel were sent to Izmir, as well as relief supplies.
My heart goes out to everyone impacted by this terrible #Earthquake in Turkey and Greece.
