Bengal Rape-Murder Case: Victim's Father Name Also In FIR

The father of the alleged victim, a relative, and a neighbour, as well as the primary accused Brija Gopal Gayali, the son of a Trinamool Congress member, are named in the police complaint filed in connection with the rape and murder case in Ranaghat.

According to media reports, the 14-year old's body was burned without a police complaint or death certificate, and the father and neighbours were arrested for "destructing evidence."

Gayli is only listed among the suspected attacker in the April 10 FIR, which includes gang rape accusations. Apart from the POCSO Act, other allegations include murder, evidence tampering, and furthering of common intention.

The CBI is currently probing the case, as directed by the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday. It has filed a complaint based on the police's FIR.

According to a senior police official, the gang rape claims in this instance stem from the fact that more than two persons are thought to have been there when the girl was molested. Two people have been detained, and others are being investigated.
