China To Launch Manned Space Mission On Saturday

China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) has announced today on Thursday that the Shenzhou-13 flight mission will be launched on Saturday. The Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft will be carried by The Long March-2F Y13 carrier rocket, and will have three astronauts (or taikonauts) on board, including Wang Yaping, the first female to enter China’s space station.

Zhai Zhigang and Ye Guangfu are the other two members of the crew that will live and work in the space station for a record period of 6 months, during which 2 spacewalks have been scheduled as well. China’s Tiangng Space Station is under construction and is the third step in their three-phase China Manned Space Program which aims to enhance human spaceflight abilities for the country. It makes China only the third country behind the US and Soviet Union to have its on space station. The CMS has completed 18 missions until now with no casualties.
