Farmers Protest: Farm Unions Meet Today To Decide On Govt's Talks Offer

Farmers’ unions will meet on Tuesday to build a consensus on whether to accept or reject the Centre’s fresh talks offer.

Although the farmers are considering the government's proposal to negotiate, they believe that it is only a 'waste of time'. According to a report published in a newspaper, farmers believe that the government is not serious about the negotiation work.

Kulwant Singh Sidhu, general secretary of Jamhoori Kisan Sabha said that 'the government has written us a letter of five pages, which describes what was discussed in the last five meetings. It is a waste of time.'

Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar said, "There is nothing new in the letter. We have already rejected the government's proposal to amend the new agricultural laws. In its letter, the government has asked us to discuss the proposal and give the date for the next stage of the talks. "

Meanwhile, the farmers have once again made it clear that the laws have to be repealed. They will not accept any amendment in agricultural laws.
