India's merchandise imports have fallen by 19.6 percent in September, revealed the Ministry of Commerce in its latest report on foreign trade in September. According to the ministry, India's imports stood at $37.69 billion in September 2019, which fell to $30.31 billion in September 2020.

At the same time, an increase has been seen on the merchandise export front. India's exports increased 5.27 percent in September this year compared to last year. For example, India's goods exports stood at $27.40 billion in September 2020, while India's exports in the month of September last year was $26.02 billion.
