Lucknow: 48 COVID-19 Patients Dead Due To Private Hospitals Negligence, DM Issues Notice

In Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow, 48 people have lost their lives allegedly due to the negligence of hospitals. COVID patients were referred to four hospitals in the capital - 17 in Apollo, 10 in Mayo, 10 in Charak, and 11 in Chandan Hospital - but they were not looked after properly.

It is being told that non-COVID patients were not being tested in hospitals. The patients were not shifted to a dedicated COVID-19 hospital when the test report came up positive. It is also feared that the hospital has violated COVID protocols.

According to media reports, patients at the hospital were not subjected to COVID-19 screening and were admitted. Over this, Lucknow DM issued notice to all the four hospitals and sought their reply on Wednesday. According to the notice, action will be taken against the hospitals under the Epidemic Act in case of negligence of the hospitals in the investigation.
