Karnataka Police has arrested all five accused in the Mysuru gang-rape case which occurred on Tuesday in Lalithadripura areaof the city. Five different investigation teams worked on the case to nab the accused: four were caught in Tamil Nadu’s Sathyamangala and the fifth was arrested in Chamarajanagar, Karnataka. State Home Minister Araga Jnanendra has confirmed these developments and said that further details will be revealed soon.
It has emerged that the accused were repeat offenders and had perpetrated a rape in Kuvempunagar locality of Mysuru about five months earlier, according to the police. The survivor was accompanied by a male friend and was being watched by the five men since a few days before the crime. Reports have also stated that they shot videos of themselves perpetrating the crime and attempted to blackmail the survivor financially.
