Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Monday expressed “deep pain” over the ruckus on Sunday, and passed a motion to suspend eight opposition MPs including TMC's Derek O'Brien and AAP's Sanjay Singh over their “unruly behaviour”. The Opposition’s no-confidence motion against Deputy Chairman Harivansh was also suspended by Naidu after Sunday's ruckus.
On Sunday, the Upper House of Parliament saw tumultuous scenes during the passage of the contentious farm bills. The situation got so worsened that the live telecast had to be momentarily cut.
