Russia Ukraine Crisis: Important Updates Of Day 28th

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his latest video says that around 1,00,000 people are still stuck in the port city of Mariupol under “complete blockade” and suffering under “inhumane conditions.”

US President Joe Biden says that Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s “back is against the wall” and that he could use more severe tactics in Ukraine.

Kyiv’s armed forces claimed on Tuesday that around 15,000 Russian soldiers have been killed so far in the ongoing war.

On Thursday Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also address the NATO Summit virtually.

Spokesperson Serhii Nikiforov said Zelenskyy will speak to attendees at the summit, which will include NATO heads of state, via video link.

The military alliance will send a “strong message of NATO’s unity and solidarity with Ukraine” at the summit, according to a NATO statement that cited Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana on Tuesday.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will chair the summit, which will be held in Brussels.

Apart from this Russia’s envoy in Indonesia says that Putin is planning to attend the G20 summit this year which will take place in Jakarta.

The United States and its Western allies are assessing whether Russia should remain within the Group of Twenty major economies following its invasion of Ukraine, sources involved in the discussions told Reuters.

But any bid to exclude Russia would likely be vetoed by others in the group, raising the prospect of some countries instead skipping G20 meetings, the sources said.
