The Supreme Court on Friday held noted activist-lawyer Prashant Bhushan convicted of contempt of court for his two tweets against CJI Bobde and the judiciary. The sentence will be heard on August 20 in the Supreme Court. Taking cognisance of a Twitter post, the top court initiated contempt proceedings against Bhusan.
On August 5, the Supreme Court reserved the judgment in this case. The court also turned down the demand that the plea in this case is not hearable as it had flaws. The court did not even accept the demand of the case being referred to another bench.
