Bhutan: The Day Tobacco Went Up In Smoke
On June 16 in 2010, Bhutan became the first country to impose a total ban on tobacco with three years' imprisonment for violations.Two years later, the law was amended to allow highly restricted use only with a permit. The Himalayan Kingdom maintains that its Gross National Happiness is more important than its Gross National Product.
