With growing unemployment across the world due to the coronavirus pandemic, an oil-rich country like Kuwait with a population of 48 lakhs is deliberating upon reducing its migrant workforce by 50 percent. There are 34 lakh foreigners in Kuwait and Indians make a huge chunk of this population. If this transpires into action by the Kuwaiti Government, it is certainly going to be a huge blow to the Indian economy and workers living there.
