Fifty-seven girls at a state-run shelter home in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district have tested positive for COVID-19, with five of them found to be pregnant. Two other girls in the shelter home, who are also pregnant, have tested negative for the virus. Since the girls were pregnant, questions have been raised at the Kanpur shelter home, but the DM Kanpur, Brahma Dev Tiwari has dismissed any untoward incident. He says that two girls were brought to Kanpur Shelter Home from Agra and Kannauj in December 2019 and are pregnant since then.
