Since millions of workers were forced to move to their native homes during the lockdown, bicycle makers in Punjab are suffering significant losses due to huge shortage of labourers. Onkar Singh Pahwa, president of All India Cycle Manufacturers Association, said that due to the shortage of labourers, there has been a decline in bicycle production. He said that both, the manufacturer and the seller, are facing a labour shortage. There is a lot of demand for bicycles in the market but due to the shortage of workers, that demand is not being met.
